Sam Luckett started work in his home town of Coventry at the age of 17 at The Windmill where he trained on the job, reaching the level of Sous Chef. He stayed for 4 years before moving to the luxury boutique Arden Hotel in Stratford Upon Avon, and then on to the stylish country house Mallory Court Hotel and Spa, where he also worked as Sous Chef.

Sam joined Purnell’s in September 2013 and has been a central part of the Purnell’s family ever since. He enjoys working at the restaurant, the atmosphere in the kitchen and the team work that goes on inside it.

His roles in the kitchen are wide-ranging and include everything from the development of dishes and relationships with suppliers, to making the petit fours and plating up on the pass.

Sam is in incredibly active and when he’s not at work he’s either at the gym, playing Sunday League Football or enjoying the great outdoors. He loves the Lake District and makes a mean Crispy Chilli Beef!
