We have successfully launched a casual dining experience at Purnells restaurant with the introduction of the Purnell’s “Living Room”.  We invite up to 6 guests to come and enjoy a relaxed dining experience in our lounge area, full of wit, excitement and substance.  The “Living room” brings you a selection of small tasting bites that are designed to be shared amongst friends, colleagues and even the “person next door”.

“Living room” diners will be served a selection of bite size plates that reflect Purnell’s vision of cooking; in Glynn’s words “Brummie tapas”.  Bespoke wine flights will be available to compliment the dishes, or recommendations can be offered by our sommelier.

The “Living room” is available Tuesday to Friday lunch at 12.00pm or 1.30pm and Tuesday to Saturday evening at 7pm or 9pm.  Please contact Angela on reception for more information.

The launch of Glynn Purnell’s first book has received lots of great responses.  The Book has gone into the second print and is available to purchase from the restaurant and on the high street.  In the coming months we will be posting some recipes that Glynn and the kitchen are working on alongside some recipes from the book.

Our private dining room can be reserved for corporate lunches, where guests are able to hold meetings and will include a menu specially designed to tailor your requirements.  The room will be available for up to 12 guests.  Please contact reception for more information.

Krug photo

Our restaurant manager Sonal was sent to Paris as part of our continued relationship and affiliation with Krug.  As ambassador, he was able to try some very special Champagnes and able to further his knowledge of Krug.  It was a magical experience full of fun, sightseeing and bubbles!

Here were some of the Champagnes he was VERY fortunate to try. 

At Purnells restaurant we are proud to serve Krug Grande Cuvée by the glass and also include it in all of our wine degustations, giving our guest the chance to try this Champagne.  We also have a wide range of Krug to share with our guests.

Purnell’s Restaurant Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are available for all occasions and can be purchased from reception on 0121 212 9799 option 1. The vouchers start at £50.00 and can be personalised with any message you require and posted to any UK address. Our vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue but if you want to purchase vouchers as Christmas gifts they will be valid until 25th December 2015.

Reservations are taken up to 60 days in advance.

You can book online for Restaurant reservations of up to 6 people and Living Room reservations of up to 8 people. Please be aware that you will need to provide a card number for all bookings.

Reception is open for all bookings and enquiries on 0121 212 9799 option 1 from 10am to 6pm Tuesday to Friday and from 4pm to 6.30pm on Saturdays. A voicemail facility is available if your call cannot be answered or you are calling out of hours. Please note, if you leave a message on a Sunday or Monday, your call will be returned on Tuesday.
